§ 07Industries / IND-04

Water treatment & municipal

Water treatment is the clearest case in our catalog for buying grade B-. The chemistry is mostly aqueous and non-permeating, nobody outside the plant ever sees the container, and the volumes are large enough that the per-unit saving is substantial.

Flow pattern
Steady, high volume, year-round
Chemistry
Mostly aqueous, mostly non-permeating
Appearance
Irrelevant — containers are never customer-facing
Procurement
Often public tender with documentation requirements

§ 07.dSector-specific problems

What goes wrong here, and what we do about it.

Four problems we see repeatedly in this sector, with the answer rather than a sales line.

01

The problem

Sodium hypochlorite degrades gaskets and off-gasses

Our answer

Viton gaskets and vented caps as standard. Hypochlorite also bleaches bottle interiors, which is cosmetic and worth knowing is normal rather than a defect.

02

The problem

Public tender documentation requirements

Our answer

We supply per-unit test records, wash programme codes, previous-contents chains and UN recertification statements. Send us the tender schedule and we will complete it properly.

03

The problem

Large volumes and tight budgets

Our answer

Grade B- is the right answer here and it is the cheapest tested stock we sell. We will not sell you up to A- for a dosing application.

04

The problem

Lime slurry and other settling products are hard to drain

Our answer

Declare it. Settled lime needs a different wash programme and we will quote accordingly rather than discovering it on the line.
