§ 09.2Getting here
Harvey sits at the crossroads, which is the whole point.
Rail-adjacent and interstate-adjacent, which is why a tote collected in Georgia and one collected in Oregon can both land on the same wash line and still make commercial sense.
| From | Route | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Chicago Loop | I-94 S to I-57 S, exit at 147th | 35–50 min |
| Midway Airport | I-294 S to I-57 S | 25–35 min |
| O'Hare Airport | I-294 S to I-80 E to I-57 N | 50–70 min |
| Indianapolis | I-65 N to I-80 W to I-57 N | 3 h |
| Milwaukee | I-94 S through Chicago to I-57 S | 2 h |
| St. Louis | I-55 N to I-80 E to I-57 N | 4 h 30 min |
Interstates I-57, I-80 and I-294 are all within about six miles of the yard. Times are indicative and Chicago traffic is Chicago traffic.
Arriving for a site visit
- Visits are welcome by appointment during yard hours
- Report to the office door on arrival, not the intake dock
- High-visibility vest and closed-toe footwear required on the floor
- Safety glasses supplied; hearing protection in the wash bay
- Bring a tote and we will grade it in front of you
- Customer audits of the food-grade path are welcome — bring your checklist
Arriving with a delivery
Inbound loads report to the covered intake dock. Please bring the manifest and the previous-contents declaration — a load arriving without a declaration gets held on the quarantine pad until one is produced, which delays everybody.
§ 09.3Who answers
Four desks, one form.
Everything arrives through the same route and gets routed internally, so you never have to work out who to write to.
Reclaim desk
Selling us totes, site cleanouts, residue questions
Sales desk
Buying stock, wholesale accounts, grade recommendations
Freight desk
Lanes, lead times, site conditions, transport-only movements
QA lead
Documentation, recertification, supplier agreements, audits
Pick the right form field
The Select Service dropdown on every form routes your message to the right desk. If none of them fits, choose “Something else” and describe it in the Message field — a human reads every one.
Required fields
First and last name, email, phone, postal code, quantity, product type and service. Quantity can be 1 for a parts order or a general question.
§ 09.4Before you write
Four things worth knowing.
Why is there no phone number?
Because we do not run a phone line. Every enquiry comes through the form or by email and is answered by a named person within one business day. It means nothing gets lost in a voicemail, and both sides have a written record of what was agreed — which matters a great deal when the subject is a previous-contents declaration.
What should I include to get a useful first reply?
For selling: a count, the capacities, the previous contents and your site conditions.
For buying: the product going in, the volume, and whether anyone outside your plant will see the container. Leave the Grade field blank and we will recommend one.
How quickly will I hear back?
Within one business day, from a person. Quotes for straightforward lots usually come back the same day; cleanout assessments and specialty sourcing take two or three.
Can I just visit?
By appointment, yes, and we would rather you saw the floor than read about it. Walk-ins for careers enquiries are welcome Monday to Thursday between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM CT — see careers.
Or skip straight to it
A count and a previous-contents note is all we need to start.
The quote page carries the same form with a little more context about what happens next.
